How I Leveraged Black Friday to Generate More Sales

I just wanted to share an interesting insight I got from my holiday.

So I spent my Black Friday in Australia.

And let me tell you—Black Friday is HUGE.

It’s not like Singapore where every day feels like 11.11, 12.12, or another flash sale.

The promos here are relentless.

Sales every week.

Discounts every month.

It’s a constant cycle of supply meeting demand.

But this got me thinking…

Why Fight the Trend?

Most businesses—whether in eCommerce, coaching, or services—are always looking for ways to generate more sales and appointments.

Yet, many entrepreneurs resist leveraging seasonal trends like Black Friday, Christmas, or New Year promos.

They think:

  • “I don’t want to discount my services.”
  • “That’s for retail, not my industry.”
  • People who buy during Black Fri or 11/11 are cheapos and that’s not who I’m targeting.

But here’s what you’re missing.

Whenever there is a trend, you miss out if you don’t leverage it.

Why?

Because these sales events do one thing incredibly well:

They create urgency and demand.

And when people are in a buying mindset—when they expect offers to pop up—you can position your products, services, or programs to meet that demand.

How We Made It Work

Recently, I shared this exact strategy with a few of my students.

  1. We tied their offers to the seasonal trend—keeping it aligned but still valuable.
  2. We built urgency with limited-time deals, bonuses, or exclusivity.
  3. We launched simple campaigns through emails and ads.

The result?

They generated more sales and booked more appointments—without needing to reinvent the wheel.
