So today I wanted to share with all of you what’s the right way of cold prospecting
Lots of agency owners, coaches and consultants + Salespeople tend to shun outbound prospecting like cold email, cold outreach
With social media platform, you technically do not need to face rejection face to face with the prospect right now
But most people are still doing it the old and annoying way where they add on you facebook or linkedin and they instantly either ask you questions on the problems of your business or if you want more leads and pitch their superb guaranteed offer where you don’t pay if you don’t get results
Sounds familiar?
You must have gotten such messages before from random people online and either ghosted them or scold them for disturbing your peace.
But the concept of cold prospecting still works, just that you require a few things depending on the situation you are in
1) Have a great positioned and differentiated offer
So with an offer that is so different from everyone else you can easily get your foot in the door, even when you start your first message off with a pitch
Basically, if you take trendy solutions and offer them to an audience that has not seen them before and it solves a problem that they are complaining about.
A few examples for agencies are:
- Manage and grow your youtube channel + get appointments from youtube
- grow omnipresent via short-form content
- Help you reduce cost by hiring a level talent overseas
2) Instead of a direct pitch, create an entry into your world
So not everyone does something entirely different so that you can stand out among the competitors. So instead of annoying prospects with the same message over and over again.
Create an entry into your content ecosystem or what I call the Evergrowth Flywheel
Create guides, and valuable content that solves burning problems for your audience and just send it over to them via outbound messaging
Now you might be thinking, so how does this make them into my client?
Here’s where the flywheel takes effect
Once they consume any of your materials on any social media platform, you can retarget them to constantly show your content in front of them when they are browsing
This creates a top-of-mind effect and actually forces them to consume information and boost your authority while doing so
So after a certain time period, if they are a good fit for your offer, they become ready to buy and book a call with you
Doing this helps to boost trust and differentiate yourself from other competitors out there.
