Today im writing about how to create blue ocean offers
Offers that slaps when you mention it to leads and prospects
Offers that instantly get leads to DM you when you talk about it on social media
Offers that prospects don’t compare with your competitor based on price and “value”
what exactly is a blue ocean offer?
In all honesty, I have not read the full Blue Ocean strategy book, BUT I understand the concept well enough…
To me, a blue ocean offer is an offer that is different from all the same offers in the market.
The question then lies in how exactly do you differentiate from the rest?
I have a method that I use to create differentiation called the blue ocean strategy…
I discovered this while studying how to build offers for myself and my clients in the beginning of my career…
I didn’t realise that most businesses don’t even create a blue ocean offer to make their sales acquisition easier on themselves
When i first started my agency I realized that a lot of agency offers to small business owners were that they could get leads for their business or that they would get high returns on their Facebook ads as they were the “BEST” in running ads…
Business owners in Singapore are already bombarded by cold emails and outreach every single day by kids telling them they can use facebook ads to make more money for them.
So I decided not to play in the same game as everyone else
I sat down to really hone in on a different offer that would allow me to get into sales conversations easier…
I had one client at that time who we did trial offers for her facial salon and it was doing so well that they expanded to another branch…
seeing the success and I repacked the Facebook ads offer into a pre-paid buyers offer. So instead of selling fb ads or generating more money with paid ads.
We sold the idea of getting paying customers online before they even step into the store. It was an instant hit.
Almost 50% of the businesses we outreach to, decided to meet with us and selling was easier than previously as well.
I did the same thing with YouTube ads for coaches and consultants. I basically rebranded myself as the go-to guy in Asia for Youtube Ads.
So here’s the method to create a blue ocean offer that prints cash for you.
1) identify a niche that is not saturated with the offer
sometimes you can get around to selling something old with a new audience
so an example is Facebook ads for artists.
I know of an offer that did extremely well-selling Facebook ads to an artist who wants to grow their arts and print business online instead of selling in fairs and events.
that offer was said to be doing at least 1m/year.
2) Repackage the outcome
beginners target the same old outcome as everyone else
especially when the gurus who taught them teach the same thing
in the SMMA space & coaches coaching coaches space, everyone talks about getting you 30-100 clients, scaling your business etc.
Very rarely do you get outcomes and offers outside of this.
I noticed this phenomenon when i started selling in the agency and helping my clients sell their offer
So here are a few examples
- instead of selling leads, I sold buyers and appointments
- instead of leads I sold converting more of their leads
- instead of the beautiful face from facial, I sold Korean glass skin
So it’s all about repacking into another new & different outcome from the market and creating brand new demand
3) Change the mechanism
This is one of the easiest ways to repackage your offer
the affiliate marketing space does this very well
Renaming your process or adding/removing a process to be different
Affiliate marketing with seo → people renamed it to e-farming method
organic marketing → FB social funnel → Social laundering
High ticket sales funnel → Phoneless sales funnel (removed a process)
4) change the platform you are selling on
This is by far the easiest method to differentiate. Which is to market the same offer but on different platform
If all your competitors are on Facebook ads , you can market on youtube / twitter
Because the awareness of the lead on that platform might not be exposed as much and/or that its much easier to get the attention of the lead on that platform
