It took me 2 years to be truly clear on what and how exactly I want my business to be like…
Some of you asked me on social, how do you know exactly what business “model” to create and what you want to do?
Honestly, it comes after trial and error across a few years, you can accelerate that by working with people in the industry to see all the good and the ugly..
Money is important to most of us, it allows us to truly have the opportunity to be free
But earning money also comes with a cost sometimes. The sacrifices you have to make depend on the business model and also the constraints you apply to yourself…
When I started my consulting business, I knew that:
- I didnt want to sell on the phone and have my calendar filled with countless sales appointment
- I didnt want to hire a huge sales and setting team to manage
- I didnt want beginner clients (just my preference)
- I didnt want to spend alot of ads to bring in clients
- I wanted to create a personal brand for myself
- I wanted to have no stress over whether people choose to buy my program or not
- I wanted to utilize my writing skills to sell more products and offers
- I wanted it to not take up so much of my time
- I wanted to impact the clients I take on as much as possible (which is the reason why I do one on ones)
- Lastly, I wanted it to be fun rather than trying to generate as much $$$ as possible to feed the business & pay for a huge team (like my last business venture) → so it must be lean, profitable and fun for me
After setting out the constraints for myself, I started embarking on executing it…
Not long after I realized I had the most fun, the most insights, and the most money made in the shortest amount of time frame than any other business venture I have done before…
This truly is printing $$$ & having fun at the same time…
This isn’t an immediate or overnight success, it took me over 5 years before I gained this clarity of what I wanted and what I didn’t want…
Here are a few steps you can take to gain that same clarity as well…
1) Write down your constraints and the ideal lifestyle you want to have
2) look around your network or online to see does anyone has the same business model and live the lifestyle that you want
3) Reflect on whether that model suits your strengths, if not can you edit parts of it to suit you?
4) Find success easier than your other ventures
Also, don’t compromise on your non-negotiable, every single time I did it previously it backfired on me and what I truly wanted…
In the end, it’s your life, so design it the way you like!
