One of the biggest questions I get all the time is…
How do I build Authority & Credibility in my Industry?
If you’ve watched my latest video on Building Trust and Authority…
I talk about getting on podcasts and speaking at Masterminds.
But these opportunities only come when you’re “perceived to be somebody” in the market…
Building authority or credibility is hardest when you don’t have a brand or positioning…
(You don’t have an audience and your prospects don’t see you differently from everyone else.…
You also don’t have XYZ level of achievements that put you in the top 5-10% of your industry)
This is the challenge I want to address today.
First off, you need PROOF in what you do.
If you claim to help people lose weight, you better have examples or case studies to back up your claims—the more, the better.
The more Proof you have, the easier for people to believe you.
Apart from the number of testimonials you have, you can also focus on the uniqueness of each story.
E.g. Using the example of a weight-loss coach, you could put together different stories like…
I helped a busy executive/entrepreneur who worked only 2 hours/day to lose X pounds in Y weeks.
Or, with my unique process, I helped someone who had been overweight for 10 years finally get into shape in Y weeks.
Of course, these stories have to be true.
Once you have proof, and you’re good at what you do…
It’s a lot easier for opportunities to come your way…
This is when you can start experimenting and create cool shit.
On a personal level, my business started seeing changes when I launched my Clear Growth Podcast.
Despite only having a couple of thousand views, I have people around the world watching my videos.

It feels nice to impact the lives of someone you don’t know.
More importantly, when people hear my ideas, they get value…
Then, they could invite me to their podcast or mastermind, which helps me build authority and credibility.
That’s how I grew from a nobody marketer to speaking at multiple podcasts and even masterminds.
To sum it up:
- Get MASSIVE PROOF (1 or 2 testimonials don’t cut it anymore – Get at least 5-6 case studies; the more, the better)
- Document what you do. (Share what you’ve been doing, including your results and the mistakes you’ve made.)
- Make Friends & share what you know. (I share what I know about marketing on YouTube for FREE)
This is how I’d build authority if I had to start all over again…
