You’ve probably heard of the four-minute mile.
For the longest time, athletes thought running a mile in under four minutes was impossible.
That was until Roger Bannister broke the record.
After that, many others followed, and what was once impossible became the norm.
A similar event occurred recently at the Paris Olympics, when a Chinese swimmer broke the 100-meter freestyle record.
We’ll likely see more swimmers achieve the same feat.
The takeaway?
An “impossible” goal suddenly feels much more achievable when surrounded by people who have done it.

In business, this is just as true as it is in sports.
