Been under the weather the past few days, due to sleeping late + eating unhealthy food.
So for the rest of the week, it would be plenty of rest and lots of water for me…
So today I would like to talk about online networking
When I started my online journey. I thought to myself that there weren’t much online marketers in Singapore.
And that all the direct response marketers were in the USA, Canada, UK , etc
As all the digital marketing groups and courses I have been learning from are full of people from people in those countries.
I also didn’t really network in person at that time
So I just honed my skills to talk to people in the USA and network with people on Facebook.
I basically added a few people as friends, hop onto zoom with them and we basically became friends…
I found many good friends from Canada and USA doing this back then…
Till today, I still do it as I find networking to be one of the most powerful skills that can help you get to where you want to be faster…
I learned that the real secrets of the trades are kept by people who aren’t selling anything online, but rather doing it for themselves or their clients…
They rarely share freely online with others, unless you gain their trust…
And recently one of my friends actually gave me free advice for one of the businesses I was running. It was so simple and profound.
Yet immediately, I could see the significant boost in revenue just from that one tip alone…
Now, networking online is one of the easiest ways to network
You just need to be human and be interested in their lives…
A simple way I have always used is to engage with their content…
I usually engage with people’s stories, either liking them or dropping a related comment, and start the conversation from there.
That’s just the first step
The second step is to add value when you can
Instead of trying to take from the person, be someone that adds value to their life
Being human is key, if you are genuine people can see that and will return the favour by helping you more
That’s basically it…
