I am writing this from my hotel in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, taking a short break before the year ends and meeting a few friends in KL
The other day I posted a story on IG that states “Stop obsessing over likes start obsessing over delivering insights that leads people to buy from you “ and this triggered the question from someone “ how do I share more insights? I’m struggling to express them on my social media”
That’s honestly a great question…
So, insights come in many different shapes and forms
My take is that whatever content you put out there it creates a gap or a thought in people’s mind
Instead of saying we should do this, it leads them to think that they should do this themselves.
It’s me who plants the idea into their head but I do not TELL them that they should do it.
It’s like Influence 101
The simplest way you can do it is through storytelling
But the other side of things is that if you say something obvious, the chance of delivering insights to people is very very low.
So the other part of the process besides showing them instead of telling them is to have contrarian opinions or thoughts
Opinions that go against the masses
E.g. Run more ads to scale (everyone knows that it is true to a certain extent)
my take: You will need to increase your revenue per client before you can run more ads (contrarian advice that they might not hear on social media)
Honestly, the easiest way to do it is to have your own unique view of problems and the world, and just write/talk about it
Some people are scared of offending people, but to be an entrepreneur you need to be strong in your opinions.
Attract those who love you and repel those who hate you
